I never liked eggplant due to its texture, it prevented me from enjoying the flavour. Babaganoush however is a very yummy and easy to make dip. It’s right there next to hummus and tzatziki. Consume with pita or any crusty bread.
I’ve made this apple pie at least ten times in the last few months. It is extremely simple and everyone greatly enjoys it. Aside from the premade crust and apples or pears I simply add some sugar, cinnamon and butter.
Since meeting Julia my daily routine of breakfast cereal and milk, or yogourt if I’m feeling fancy, has been replaced by bread with butter and jam as well as multiple yogourt types. I enjoy it equally and it ties me over until lunch better than cereal did but sometimes it just takes a little too long to pull everything out of the fridge and cupboard. Sometimes I want 10 second prep and 10 second clean up.
I baked a soufflé yesterday with the new dish Julia bought me for my birthday. It turned out really well. An important part of a yummy soufflé is the crunchy bits on the sides/bottom/top. The trick is to make sure all these surfaces are covered in grated cheese! Butter the dish then coat with grated cheese. Place the filling in the baking dish then sprinkle a few additional tablespoons of grated cheese on top.
Soufflés are deceptively easy and quick to make but they should not be over estimated in terms of quantity. While soufflés look big and impressive, once dished out it looks more like a side – and should be served as such.
